BUILDING & FACILITIES SUPERVISOR POSTED NOVEMBER 12, 2024 The Town of Glocester seeks a qualified individual for the position of Building and Facilities Supervisor. The position requires an individual to perform a variety of manual tasks to maintain and support all town buildings and facilities. The position requires 24/7 availability for winter months and for any other emergencies that may develop. VSS Operator - Water Certification or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire date is required. SECRETARY: BOARD OF ASSESSMENT REVIEW POSTED AUGUST 29, 2024 The Town of Glocester, Rhode Island, is seeking a recording secretary for its Board of Tax Assessment Review. The Secretary records the minutes of the meetings of the Board and submits typed minutes to the Tax Assessor’s Office. The Board hears assessment appeals from property owners.
The Secretary must be available for all Board meetings, usually held on Tuesday evenings and occurring about six times per year. Additional meetings may be scheduled based on need or to obtain a Board quorum. The Secretary is an on-call position. It is paid $150 per meeting as needed. Payment covers attending the meeting, taking notes, and transcribing them into accurately typed minutes in MS Word. Typed minutes must be submitted to the Tax Assessor’s Office within 35 days of the meeting.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to accurately record minutes in a fast-paced meeting environment, be a proficient typist and be proficient in MS Word. Excellent written and spoken English skills are required. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

PROBATIONARY POLICE OFFICER POSTED AUGUST 16, 2024 The Town of Glocester is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of probationary police officer. While our application process remains open, please note that the deadline for submitting your application is September 13, 2024. Recruits will be expected to attend the January 2025 academy.
Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, at least 18 years of age, and possess a valid driver’s license. Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or GED certificate. Applicants must meet medical, physical and psychological standards and must pass an extensive background investigation.

SENIOR CENTER MEAL SITE COORDINATOR (part-time) POSTED AUGUST 16, 2024 The Town of Glocester is seeking a part-time Meal Site Coordinator in its Senior Center in Chepachet. This is a five-day-a-week, Monday through Friday position, 27.5 hours per week, from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and does not include holiday work. There are about four evening or Saturday events during the year. Hourly wage up to $18.00, depending on experience.
Duties include serving a catered lunch to an average of 25 to 30 people per day, assuring food safety, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment in compliance with Rhode Island Department of Health standards. Some food preparation is required. The Coordinator performs other administrative duties in the absence of the Director.
The job requires a high school diploma or equivalent, obtaining a Food Safety Certification within six months of hire, excellent interpersonal skills, written and spoken fluency in English and the ability to make basic arithmetic calculations and record the results. Experience in a food service environment or working with seniors is preferred.
